Wedding anniversary photo session

We got married on a beautiful August day, while the idea to celebrate the half-year anniversary of marriage in the winter came together with the photographer Kristini Grīnvaldi. In a different season, we returned to the feelings of the wedding day, but without worrying about the fact that the dress will get dirty, the wedding car will be late or we will mix up the steps of the first dance.

On the eve of the winter photo session, the ground was covered by a sea of mud, and there was no sign of the snow-white February fairy tale that we saw outside the window the next morning. We felt as if this day had really been conjured for us.

The morning started with a blowout, the stylist made my hair and a slightly brighter and bolder make-up than at the wedding - it perfectly matched the green-brown flowers in the bride's bouquet. In keeping with the season, the white wedding dress was accessorized with a fluffy half fur coat and mittens.

The adventure began in a snow-covered forest near Riga, where we went horseback riding. We made sure that the bride looks beautiful in a white dress together with a silver-gray horse. Raivis, even though it was his first time on a horse, got along well with the mare's energetic character. After riding, we went to look for beautiful views near the Katlakalna church and in the Rāmava manor park. The fabulous snow-covered trees looked like white clusters of cherry and apple blossoms in spring.

We have both beautiful memories and wonderful photos from that day. If on the wedding day you can't devote unlimited time to a photo session for two, then you definitely can on the occasion of the wedding anniversary. It's a beautiful opportunity to put on your wedding clothes again, maybe try something different, visit a special place where you didn't have the chance to be there on the wedding day, and let go of all the worries about the wedding and the guests.
