Each new year also brings with it new wedding trends. Colors, decorations, themes change... However, that is not the case does not mean that all the trends of previous years should be automatically canceled.

LĪGAVĀM asked wedding experts which are the trends that should definitely not be abandoned. And those that should be left in the past without being carried into the new decade.

Walking an hour before midnight

Wedding organizer Inga Bērziņa / BAN NT É EVENT indicates that one of the wedding trends, naturally began to introduce themselves to the weddings they organized, there is already an hour before midnight. Inga says that such a scenario wedding guests also like it, because they won't have to leave the heated dance floor at midnight to indulge in romantic mingling.

"It is not uncommon, as I observed earlier, if only at midnight the michosan, the wedding cake, which is cut before one in the morning. A large number of guests are no longer interested, and sometimes the older generation even has problems waiting for midnight to participate in michosana. That is why it is definitely a solution that I recommend to young couples during the wedding season," says Inga. Another trend supported by Inga Bērziņa is wedding celebrations alone throughout the day. “I like this trend. It doesn't necessarily mean that I get less work as a wedding planner it doesn't change much, but it does for the young couple.

One-day weddings are more financially beneficial because guests do not have to provide overnight stay and breakfast on the second day, and activities. You also don't have to experience the guests' sometimes inevitable hangover the morning of the second day.

I support one-day weddings in urban areas or close to Riga. If, however, the couple decides on two day celebrations, then they can also be organized in the urban environment, but in this case you will save on accommodation for guests. Everyone will be able to choose the hotel to stay in according to their taste and budget. In the urban environment to meet as well the next day, I recommend organizing a brunch at the same place where the night party was already celebrated. Or, on the contrary, to have new breaths and impressions, then it can even be organized in one of Riga's restaurants," advises Inga.

A wedding trend to avoid - gifts for guests

The tendency not to give gifts to wedding guests is one of the elements that Inga does not fully support, and she is glad that more and more young couples agree with her. "Gifts for guests often mean money disposal. If the planned gift is something very special and directly related to the couple, then yes, but if you have to puzzle over what it could be exactly that, and the tight budget still needs to find an excess amount for this position, then I would definitely recommend putting it behind the line," said Inga.

Trend - colors

Inga Bērziņa says that colors will return to wedding decorations this year. “I like this one trend, because it seems that decorators are already a little tired of the performance of pastel colors and are happy to throw color in a vortex. This does not mean that you must now choose one wedding shade to stick to and exclude pastel shades, but you should allow the decorator to persuade you a little and surprise you." Wedding decorator Dagnija Gaile / LOVE LETTERS also agrees with her, stating that pink will always be relevant for weddings, but this year the light grayish pink color will be replaced by a shade that mixes soft pink and purple.

"The range of yellow tones will also become a current wedding trend and blue tones will return throughout in its range of colors, but the tone of jeans with all the texture of denim will be especially relevant. Gold is also becoming more and more common will be replaced by silver, it will be combined with both the white shade and the browns," said Dagnia.

Trend that is becoming actual - the use of green environment and natural background in wedding decorations

We live in a time when society thinks a lot about natural pollution and waste recycling. "Already last year, the tendency to think about how to decorate an event, using less, became actualized in Latvia as well disposable resources. The return of white tablecloths

Decorator Dagnia Gaile says that white tablecloths will return to weddings this year in decorations. "Already in 2019, we started to return to white tablecloths, which was enough just a couple of years ago considered a very aging color in the choice of textiles. I expect the trend to return to white this year textiles will be seen even more often, because white in combination with light tones looks festive and classic beautiful," says Dagnia.

Lighting

In the decorations of 2020, one of the biggest wedding news will still be various use of lights. "The right lighting sets the mood. Geometric figures and lines lose relevance

Dagnija Gaile points out that already in 2019, very pronounced geometric figures and lines lost their relevance, therefore It is no longer relevant to include geometric dishes and elements in 2020 weddings.

"If you really like geometric patterns, then I recommend using them not in dishes and in graphic design, but in interesting textiles, giving the geometry a slightly fresher direction, as well as themselves articles can be chosen more fluently."
