Musician Katrīna Gupalo comes out with the long-awaited studio version of the song "Tornado", giving it an orchestral ambitious and rich sound. The song was written several years ago and soon became an integral part of Katrina's repertoire in solo concerts. But creating a studio version of the song turned out to be an unexpectedly difficult task. After long searches and experiments, producer Edgar Vilcānas managed to give the song a new, cinematic and orchestral ambitious sound. Violinist Timurs Vilcāns and cellist Jānis Pauls took part in the recording of the song.

The song “Tornado” reflects the elemental nature of passion, which resembles a tornado with its uncontrollable energy. Light excitement like a gentle breeze refreshes everyday life, but if emotions are strong enough, just like natural cataclysms, they can wipe out absolutely everything in their path.

"The birth of the song was also lyrical - one hot summer evening I was overwhelmed with so much emotion that I sat down at the piano and wrote "Tornado" in one breath. The words, melody and harmony simply flowed like an uncontrollable stream, as if someone had put them in my soul. I believe that works of art created in this way are those that are given to us by higher forces. It is a feeling as if the song already exists somewhere, but I simply hear it from space, let it pass through my being and give it to the listeners.” - reveals the author of the song, Katrína Gupalo.

The next concerts of Katrīna Gupalo, where it will be possible to hear the song "Tornado", will take place on April 12 in Riga, in the cultural space MASA, and on May 3 in the Mazmežotne manor. At these concerts, musician Edgars Vilcāns will join Katrīna to perform not only her own original compositions, but also bright Broadway, jazz and cinema music pieces.
