MISSION POSSIBLE OR IMPOSSIBLE?
Unfortunately or fortunately, it is not yet possible in Latvia to get romantically married now and immediately, just by listening to your heart's voice and mutual declaration of love - it is against the law. The "spontaneous" wedding that can be arranged by a couple in Latvia can only take place on the 31st day after the marriage application. However, it is spontaneous enough, think brides who start preparing for the wedding at least a year and a half in advance and time flies by without noticing anyway. No matter how presumptuous this idea may seem at first,
getting married in one month IS possible for any couple, as long as you are ready to be creative, brave and decisive!
BEFORE YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE…
The idea of getting married spontaneously, skipping at least a year of waiting and organizing, is very attractive, but not for everyone.
Before indulging in this bold idea, you should clearly understand whether, first of all, you and the groom are suitable people - whether you will be able to quickly make decisions and make a choice, or whether you will be ready for the fact that your wedding will differ from a more or less "traditional wedding", just as the assessment of friends and relatives will differ.
After all, won't the memories of that day have a little bitter aftertaste and the treacherous "what if there was more time" creep in? Of course, your own feelings and wishes come first, but it would not be superfluous to consider how your loved ones will look at such a wedding - whether your parents will understand and accept it, whether there will be no conflicts in the family because of it.
There will probably be things that will not be polished to perfection, it will probably be difficult to realize the "wedding day you have dreamed of since childhood" in every detail, there will probably be those around you who will not understand your beautiful, romantic decision... However, perhaps this is what will give your day that special, only intuitively perceived glow of reality.
WHERE TO BEGIN
MARRIAGE APPLICATION
According to Latvian legislation, marriage registration can take place no earlier than on the 31st day after the submission of the marriage application. Until very recently, the so-called announcement period was valid for 30 days, when, based on serious circumstances provided for by law, any person could indicate why the conclusion of the marriage in question is impossible. Now the announcement time has been canceled, however, it did not change the procedure in essence. So, if the time to prepare for the wedding is very short, we recommend planning a visit to the registry office as the first task. The marriage application can be submitted no earlier than 6 months and no later than 1 month before the planned wedding date.
Note: marriage application must be submitted to the bride and groom both together, presenting an identity document. Regardless of whether the marriage registration is scheduled at the registry office, a church or another place, the application for concluding a marriage must be submitted to the registry office.

WEDDING BUDGET & NUMBER OF GUESTS
As we know, unfortunately, even the most romantic and intangible things in the world "bump" against money. In order not to waste time and avoid disappointment, we recommend immediately determining the amount intended for the wedding (remembering that in 99% of cases the expected costs will be exceeded, so it is better to immediately include in the budget unexpected costs in the amount of 10%-15% of the total budget). A wedding budget created as precisely as possible will allow you to significantly save time, despite the price categories that are outside the budget, while the previously determined priorities will act as a safe landmark.
Note: The wedding budget is directly affected by the number of guests! Therefore, plan the budget depending on the expected number of party participants.

CELEBRATION PLACE
In order to find a place for the celebration "at the last moment", you will most likely have to make one of two, as politicians say, "unpopular decisions", namely to choose either an unconventional place (so not a manor, palace or guest house), or an unconventional wedding day (so not Friday - Sunday). This seeming "concession" at the first moment can actually turn out to be a great benefit - there are so many original celebration places outside the usual guest houses and manors that work for weddings, you only have to look a little wider, inquire more, and an original celebration place will be easily at hand! Note: If you still want to celebrate your wedding in a guest house or a manor, call these places, including the most popular and requested ones. Couples' plans tend to change, unfortunately, weddings also happen to be canceled or postponed, and dates become available at the last minute even in the fastest booked guesthouses. It's worth a try!
WEDDING STYLE & THEME
This stage often gives brides the most headaches. The good news is that you will save them for yourself for a very simple reason - you will not have time to change your mind a hundred times and think for a long time before making a choice. Determine as quickly as possible what you want and what you don't want in your wedding, meet with the florist, decorator and wedding director as soon as possible, "taking" ready-made ideas and somewhat defined wishes with you. Express wedding preparation mode will probably be better suited for less formal weddings. As long as it suits you and the groom's personality, we recommend looking in the direction of "freer" wedding styles. For example, the boho style, which is very current this season, is used, which "by definition" is freer, more youthfully frivolous and more hedonistic, therefore also much more permissive in visual design.
Note: Allows the venue to determine the theme and style of the party! Do not drown out the authenticity of the place with artificial decorations! If it is a botanical garden or other place near nature, the surrounding beauty will be the best decoration you could wish for! On the other hand, if you have chosen a place of culture, continue this theme, adding a little to the original "decorations". The place itself with its special aura will do half the work for you!

INVITATIONS
This could be one of the most difficult moments... Remember that your wedding requires certain costs and planning not only for you, but also for your guests. It's not just a gift and a planned (and workplace-agreed) date, but also dresses, suits and beauty treatments. Therefore, so that as many of the invited guests can come to the celebration, invite as soon as the wedding date is known! It will be enough if you mention the most important thing at the beginning, namely the reason and date of the celebration. You can inform guests about the rest over time, as soon as new information is reliably known. For convenient and modern communication, use the Internet, for example, create a closed Facebook group for your wedding!
Note: Choose alternative types of invitations that will take less time to prepare, such as video or electronic invitations. Couples for whom exquisite handmade invitations are not a priority have even invited their guests with the help of the Whatsapp application! If you still want to keep the invitations as a symbol of the wedding, order or make yourself some paper invitations for the closest people (for example, parents and ushers), who will really love them.
