HOW TO SAVE YOUR WEDDING BOUQUET

HOW TO SAVE YOUR WEDDING BOUQUET

The wedding day goes by so quickly and fleetingly that you just want to - if only you could be there again in one of the moments of this unique day! It's good to have photos and videos to dwell on. But you can keep your bridal bouquet in a very tangible format as a beautiful symbol.

Tossing the bride's bouquet

If you want to keep your bridal bouquet for beautiful memories, it will be wiser to avoid the tradition of throwing the bridal bouquet. Firstly, then the bouquet will end up in the possession of another lady, but secondly, it may lose its original shape, flowers and decorations may be broken. If you still want to experience throwing a bridal bouquet at your wedding, order a bouquet from the florist specifically for this purpose, which can be visually identical to your bridal bouquet or different - at your choice.

When ordering the bouquet from the florist, tell them that you would like to keep and dry the bouquet after the wedding. A professional florist will be able to give advice about the flowers and plants used in your wedding bouquet, as well as how to treat it specifically so that it is as durable as possible on the wedding day, as well as easier to preserve afterwards.

Wedding bouquet storage and drying

No matter how you want to save every petal and stem of the bouquet, it will not be possible. If the bouquet is stored in a dry place, it will dry nicely, but the petal will still fall off during the process.

At the same time, drying a wedding bouquet is the easiest way to preserve it in its actual format, as it does not require any additional investment or special skills. The only thing to be aware of is that as the moisture dries up, the bouquet will shrink and the gorgeous colors of the flowers will fade. However, the shape will remain, which is the good news.

Before the bouquet is placed for drying, it is freed from leaves and flowers that are about to fall off or turn brown, and a part of the stem is tied with a ribbon or covered with rubber so that it does not lose its shape during the drying process. The shape will be best preserved if you hang it upside down on a string in a dark and dry place. Depending on the composition of the flower bouquet, the drying process can take from two weeks to one month.

When the wedding flower bouquet has dried, you can put it in a cardboard or wooden box, where the bouquet will be protected from moisture and dust, but if you want to give the composition a decorative aesthetic pleasure, a wedding bouquet in a glass box will look fantastic. Embedding the flowers of the wedding bouquet in epoxy - they will remain untouched by time forever!

Drying individual flowers

Maybe you don't want to keep the whole bouquet as a memory, but individual flowers or greens? Then we should remember the creative lessons of primary school, where we used dried leaves and flowers, which were picked, folded and pressed between the pages of heavy books before use. Choose what you want from the wedding bouquet and - go!

In order not to dirty the paper of the book, white sheets of paper, for example from copy paper or a drawing album, are inserted between its pages. After that, you can create your own work of art from the obtained dried plants - create a composition and place it in a frame.
