WEDDING FORMAT – CELEBRATION BEFORE SUNSET

WEDDING FORMAT – CELEBRATION BEFORE SUNSET

In recent years, wedding formats have changed all over the world. Wedding ceremonies also take place in the early hours of the morning or late at night, on weekdays and holidays. One of such non-standard solutions in recent years is weddings, including their celebration during the day, without dancing all night long. There are dances, but only during the day - in the sunlight.

LĪGAVĀM explains the advantages of this format for weddings.

Time planning for wedding celebrations in daylight

Although wedding organizers often advise not to start the wedding morning too early, this applies more to weddings where the cake is supposed to be eaten at midnight and dancing until the first roosters. If the wedding celebration is to be closed already in the evening, then there is not the slightest reason to give up early wedding mornings.

The only significant difference between the wedding celebration in the evening and during the day is the timing, that is, the wedding ceremony could start around 11.00, which means that the morning of the wedding of the bride and groom will start relatively early.

The wedding ceremony could be followed by a small photo session of the new couple, but around At 13.00, the couple can sit down at the festive tables together with their guests.

The fact that the wedding celebration takes place during the day does not necessarily mean that guests should be treated only with snacks and champagne.

If the couple wishes, the dinner format can be turned into a festive lunch format, serving both hot and cold dishes. Lunch can be followed by an activity, the first wedding dance, or the cutting of the cake - none of these activities need to be missed just because the wedding celebration takes place in daylight.

Jazz band instead of evening DJ

One of the most popular questions when it comes to daytime weddings is whether a live band will suit this format. The answer is an unequivocal yes.

If the wedding celebration takes place in the open air, then instead of the usual evening DJ, a jazz or acoustic band will probably suit better - it will perfectly match both the lunch format in the open air and will allow you to move your legs. Such a celebration format certainly does not prevent various entertainment activities.

Brunch and airy dress code

The brunch or late breakfast menu will be suitable for wedding celebrations during the day, offering a variety of light snacks and salads, as well as high-quality burgers, omelettes and sweet breakfast dishes, such as Belgian waffles with various toppings.

You should also think about light alcoholic drinks - wine, cocktails, champagne.

For wedding celebrations of this format, especially if they take place on a hot summer day, the dress code or style of dressing does not require guests to wear suits and fancy dresses. The invitation should definitely indicate what dress code the guests should wear, but it could be both airier fabrics and clothes in lighter shades, as it would be for an evening celebration.

After the celebration - on a trip or to the SPA

No less important question is, of course, what time to end the celebration and what to do afterwards. The end of the celebration depends on each couple, but around At 18.00, 19.00 you can end the wedding celebration by throwing the bride's bouquet and thanking the guests for coming.

The plans for the next evening can be different - there will be couples who are preparing to go on their honeymoon trip or will spend the evening together in a cozy SPA hotel, will go on an outing with guides or have a small photo shoot with a photographer.

On the other hand, if the wedding guests still want to continue the celebration, nothing prevents them from doing so - only this time without the new couple.

Such a wedding format is often chosen by a family with children, because even the youngest family members will be able to participate in the celebrations during the day.

Of course, when holding a wedding in the middle of the day, you should also think about the weather, especially if the ceremony and celebrations are planned for the middle of the day, when the sun can heat up the strongest.
