A WEDDING WITHOUT SNAPTAGS, PHONES AND SMART DEVICES!

A WEDDING WITHOUT SNAPTAGS, PHONES AND SMART DEVICES!

Selfie Instagram , live video Facebook , a moment that must be captured with your phone's camera - in our everyday life we are used to constantly making friends with our smart devices.

Maybe that's why

the concept - unplugged wedding, or the day when mobile phones and other smart devices are left in bags, is becoming more and more popular all over the world.

Wedding photographer Inta Lankovska / Inta Photography is a supporter of this concept. "A wedding is a moment full of inspiration - two people agree on a new life adventure in front of their closest people. They open their hearts and invite you to look into them.

Being present in that moment is, in my opinion, a magical moment that cannot be captured by looking at it through the screen of your smartphone or camera.

In the end - if a professional photographer is present on the wedding day, there will be pictures, there's no need to be afraid of that," says Inta. She admits that wedding guests mostly respect the couple's request to leave their electronic devices out of the way, although often, unfortunately, there is a rebel who pulls out the camera at the end of the ceremony - during the new couple's first kiss. "The most important benefit of this new practice is better pictures. Phones and cameras have a huge impact on the overview pictures of the ceremony, taking away a part of the atmosphere that the young couple tried so carefully to conjure when planning their big day. Wedding guest photos also look a lot better if you can actually see that you're there instead of answering an email for that important moment in your life. Besides,

forgetting about their electronic devices makes the party atmosphere much more fun because people spend more time talking, sharing the events of the day and enjoying each other's company,"

observed by Inta.

WE WILL LEAVE SMARTPHONES AT THE ENTRANCE!

Mikus Opelts and Elsa Opelts got married last year, in a forest grove, before sunset. They too had asked the guests not to use their mobile phones and other smart devices at their wedding ceremony. "Undoubtedly, in today's world, smartphones are an integral part of everyday life, both among our friends and family, and among ourselves.

However, weddings are not everyday, every moment on this day is special and sacred, so the most important thing is to catch them with your own eyes, with your presence, to be "here and now", that's why we wanted the most professional party participant in this field to be responsible for these moments, which turn into memories in photographs - a wedding photographer!

We both realized how important it is to choose a wedding photographer and the couple's trust in him. We completely trusted our wedding photographer, therefore we gave up the usual control over things and events that are characteristic of us in everyday life and at work," says Elsa Opelte.

Their wedding ceremony took place in a forest grove before sunset. Both admit that the feeling of being together was strong, because everyone present was very close and every sound and movement would not go unnoticed. "The initiator of the idea was our wedding photographer, which we implemented with directions and specially placed baskets for leaving smartphones before entering the grove. We didn't receive any negative comments about this topic, on the contrary - many remembered it as a very good idea, which should definitely be recommended to other couples in organizing a holiday. In fact, there are very few photos from the wedding on friends' phones, but that means only one thing - all the guests were too busy celebrating the holiday and having a good time to pay attention to their phones," concludes the young couple.

BE HERE AND NOW OR A WEDDING WITHOUT HASTAGS

Katrīna Puriņa - Liberte and her husband Artūrs Liberts said their "YES" to each other last summer. They did it in the presence of family and close friends and, as they say, without hashtags. Both are convinced that a smart device-free wedding was one of the best decisions they could have made.

"When we sent out the wedding invitations to our guests, we had already included a request to respect our decision and enjoy our celebration of love without hashtags. We made this decision because we wanted to protect the privacy of our celebration.

This decision also allowed us to determine what pictures from our special day would end up in the public domain. Although I also love Instagram and sharing beautiful photos, for us the wedding was an intimate and one-off event that we didn't want to share right away. And in my opinion, we needed it as much as our guests, because all our relatives and friends really respected what was written in the invitation and I could enjoy the celebration in real presence without smartphones.

The wedding ceremony was photographed by professional photographers, while at the celebration, each guest had a disposable camera and a Fujifilm Instax on the table to use to capture the party.

And I must admit, the most beautiful and memorable photos were taken with these cameras," says Katrīna.
