That special time of the year is approaching - this summer's active wedding season. Couples who are going to say their yes words in the near future have most likely already found their wedding photographer and are dreaming of the fantastically beautiful and romantic photos that await them. But how do you end up with romantic and beautiful wedding photos? LĪGAVĀM asked several wedding photographers in Latvia.

Do not copy and imitate Instagram and Pictures seen on Pinterest

Wedding photographer Einars Freimanis is convinced that a successful and beautiful wedding photo session does not need so much, but you need to know a few important prerequisites.

"Although a good and professional photographer will take beautiful pictures in any weather, the most magical and romantic pictures are most often taken in the best lighting conditions, which are sunrise or sunset and after sunset.

At a wedding, it will most often be exactly the time of dusk, so the couple should always try to schedule at least 15 minutes for a photo session at this magical time.

Another important condition, in my opinion, would be not to be too influenced by other resources and specific pictures that you would like to imitate or copy. In the era of Instragram/Pinterest , brides are very impressed and try to dream their wedding through other pictures, but forget that perhaps their story can unfold even more beautiful and special. Therefore, it is good to understand or visually formulate your wishes, but leave the rest to the photographer. If you have made a correct and thorough selection of a photographer and you fully trust him, then you can be sure that you will receive something special and your photos will be a source of inspiration for other brides," observed Einars.

The most important prerequisite – the right photographer

Wedding photographer Annija Pumpure points out that there are two main points to be guided by in order to get true and beautiful wedding photos:

1. "The first thing is to find the right photographer who makes the couple feel safe, with whom good contact is formed and a common vision of the final result. A good photographer will also learn how to get the couple to relax in front of the camera during the wedding photo session;
2. The second is to find a suitable environment in which the couple feels safe. For example, wedding photos are taken in a place that is close to the couple personally.

I myself always get to know the couples properly and consider all their wishes regarding wedding photography. We are all different, and a good photographer will know how to visually show the most beautiful things in your relationship," Annie is convinced.

To be free and natural

Wedding photographer Gints Freimanis always reminds young couples before the wedding photo session that, first of all, the pictures are taken for themselves and for their wedding album, so the main prerequisite is to be free and natural. "The couple understands this and becomes a little more relaxed, starts to communicate with each other, look at each other. These are also those natural moments that are worth capturing in a photograph. That's where the real romance happens.

It is important for the atmosphere to be as intimate as possible, i.e. not to be disturbed by unnecessary people around. I often say to a couple that "there is no me, it's just the two of you".

Romance in the picture can also be achieved with accessories and environment, but they are not always available. However, this approach of catching the real moments is closer to me," says Gints Freimanis.

Be yourself 110 percent!

Wedding photographer and videographer Anda Upmale // Riverside films x photography is convinced that there is no single perfect recipe for romantic and beautiful wedding photos - as many couples, as many different photos. "Couples are very different - introverts, extroverts, adventure seekers, peace and culture lovers, therefore, romanticism will manifest itself differently for each couple. For some it will be pounding on the beach sand, for others it will be a quiet time together without involving a lot of active movement.

That is why the most important thing, on the way to the perfect wedding photos, is to tell the photographer what you are like, what you like to do, how you relax, what your hobbies are, because these aspects help to understand the couple and reveal their special romanticism. Perhaps the simplest things you do everyday will also be the most special.

Don't fake anything and invent things that aren't yours. Be yourself 110 percent," advises Anda. She also invites couples to take photos with that special feeling they had on their first date or other important moment.
