Sindija Vilde, director of the events agency Chocolate Events , states that although the organization of surprises is not yet very popular in Latvia, possibly due to Latvian shyness, nevertheless,

when such a surprise appears, it is one of the brightest moments in any wedding.

"During the nine years since our agency has been organizing events, there has been a joint surprise from the couple in only one wedding. In this case, I do not count the couple's first dance, which is often elegantly staged with various surprise elements, which also involves dressing up, changing music styles, brothers of the bride and groom, and often also professional dancers. Couples most often choose to perform one of the surprise songs that are special to them. Professional musicians are often invited as assistants, who are also the main wedding musicians during the evening.

There are brides who dance at the altar, there are couples who have staged a more attractive dance instead of the usual classical waltz. But in order to get the dance floor moving and invite the guests to dance wildly, a great idea will be to hire a professional dance instructor who will teach the guests polka, salsa or even line dancing.

There's no better way to get your wedding guests dancing! Arta Bondare, the creative director of the event agency Oga Events reminds that

any non-traditional element at a wedding is a performance, which should not turn into a concert.

"It's very nice when the couple themselves or the guests have prepared a performance, but I also got to see a five-dance concert, starting with flirty cabaret dancers and ending with a modern ballet love story. No matter how professional it is,

it should be remembered that the center of the event of the day is the young couple, not the opportunity to show their talents."

However, Arta points out that dance performances are also possible in various forms. For example, there was once a wedding, where friends of the couple made a performance, which was performed in masks - the guys were the face of the new husband, and the girls were the brides, thus continuing to highlight the main characters of the day. Folk dance groups also very willingly agree to make a small ambra at the wedding, gifting the new couple and entertaining the guests at the occasion.

ACTIVITIES FOR GUESTS

Often at weddings, guests are left alone for several hours while the new couple goes to take pictures or out with the ushers. This is the time when you should think about various activities to entertain your guests in advance. Sigita Daniliča, head of the full-service wedding agency Crystal Events , says that the ideas can be different - depending on the theme of the wedding and the young couple themselves.

• One of the favorite activities is the photo corner or photo booth, where guests can get personalized photos (of course, you should also think about various attributes - hats, wigs, inscriptions and others).
• If opportunities allow, each guest can be given a disposable camera , allowing you to capture the special event from your own point of view (just remember to collect all the cameras after the celebration to develop the pictures).
• While the young couple has gone on their outing, guests will be entertained by both a caricaturist and a magician.
• Both small and large wedding guests will be delighted not only by traditional sweets tables, but also by an ice cream machine , where everyone can mix their favorite ice cream.
• But men could be particularly pleased with the cigar bar , or a place where everyone can roll their own special cigar (this option will be great for outdoor weddings). 

• To make the waiting time more active, guests can also organize various competitions with prizes (additional motivation is always useful!). Dear wedding guests, remember that a wedding is the right time to surprise the new couple themselves. That is why often the friends and relatives of the bride and groom have already prepared and staged a dance, composed a song or, for example, ordered a hot air balloon to take the bride and groom away.

If the couple has a favorite musician, then a celebrity as a guest at the wedding will be a real surprise for the newlyweds.

It doesn't have to be just a musician, it can be an actor who recites poetry or pretends to be the ex-lover of the new wife, it can even be a politician - the main thing is that the surprise guest should really be a surprise in the literal sense of the word.

Couples are so different and often you don't have to think about individual surprises at all, especially if the wedding itself is a big SURPRISE. Especially brave couples who are not afraid of a little crazy and unconventional ideas can, for example, organize a big birthday party or New Year's celebration, inviting their friends and relatives, but when the guests arrive, they will realize that a wedding will also be celebrated.  It is safe to say that the shock will be on everyone's faces - especially the parents, so it is better to make sure beforehand how they might react to it. In any other way, a wedding is the right time to indulge in surprises - your own and those of others!
