An oasis of peace in the middle of a big city

Daiga and Kristaps chose outdoor glamping for their wedding. "When we started planning the wedding, we didn't have one specific idea, as we can see in the end result of these days, but we knew right away which professionals in the industry we wanted to work with and we fully relied on their flight of creative ideas.

We didn't want a completely classic wedding with a large group of guests and the usual traditions, so we both came to the decision to celebrate this day only among the closest family members, somewhere near nature and in a very relaxed atmosphere, so that we wouldn't have to worry about anything.

In terms of style, we stuck to modern elegance with a slight touch of boho , which perfectly matched our taste and inner feelings. For the sake of convenience, we wanted to hold the celebration as close as possible to Riga, and quite by chance we came across the recently opened Esen gardens in Pārdaugava, which immediately became clear when we went there that it was the perfect place for a leisurely and undisturbed wedding ceremony in the open air. A wide, quiet, green and beautifully decorated area 20 minutes from home - what more could you wish for! The wedding guests also recognized that it was like an unexpected oasis of peace in the middle of the big city," Daiga and Kristaps say.

• Outdoor weddings are recommended to be held in places where there is a leeward wind - in the dunes, in the forest, in a meadow near the forest, in a river valley, etc. But when choosing a venue, you should make sure that you can access it freely. If you want to set up a glamping, then you should expect that it will be necessary to bring, build and later take away a lot of materials, so the wedding venue should be comfortable enough for wedding guests and service providers to get to.
• The wedding ceremony and/or celebration at the glamping certainly does not limit the young couple in their wishes. This format makes it possible to host a glamorous dinner at set tables, or to create an open-air picnic atmosphere, if that's what you want.
• When having an outdoor wedding, you definitely need to think about heaters, fire pots (both for safety reasons and out of respect for nature) and lighting, so that when the sun goes down, it's not completely dark and there is somewhere to warm up. Also, don't forget to arrange baskets with blankets for chilly evenings, mosquito repellents, as well as raincoats and umbrellas in case of rain.
  

  But the most important rule when organizing an outdoor wedding is to leave everything behind clean and tidy. You should also not forget about bringing amenities to the venue. If the general mood of the wedding celebration is elegant glamour, then the amenities should also be appropriate - the blue plastic toilet cubicles intended for outings will not be matched this time.

• If you are planning a wedding celebration lasting several days, you should also take care of the accommodation options for the guests. If you are having a wedding at a glamping site instead of a camping site, then they also require adequate accommodation, namely the guest cabins should be well-furnished with a comfortable king-size bed, electricity connection and decent facilities with a toilet, shower and a large mirror. Also, the cottages should be heated (because even in summer the nights can be cool).
