One of the TOP trends in decorations for this wedding season is definitely the various knots . They are used both in decorations and references in wedding invitations and in other details.
LĪGAVĀM asked several decorators to find out what style of wedding they would suit best and in which in decorations the most organic will fit.
Decorator, Augu Maaja creative director Kristīne Jakadela states that knotting or macrame was very popular about 50 years ago when it was mostly sailors to fill the long time on board.

"At that time, almost every second woman made the decorations, and now the moment has come and the cycle has begun, so that knots would return both to world wedding decorations and to Latvia.
From time to time long-forgotten solutions are searched for - new things. Accordingly, the technique for knotting is the same, but its application is grander, and knots do not always have a practical application at the moment. Wedding at the moment the cotton tone is also relevant in the decorations, as well as various handkerchiefs and strings, respectively, everything loose, but however, with ornaments, texture, fringes and details," says Kristīne Jakadela.
Decorator Iveta Kokmane also explains that knotting has been back in Latvian fashion for some time now. “Mothers of the bride that definitely remember from your youth when flower pots were knotted, poufs were knotted and many other things. Now this soothing handwork is back in a big way, but in a completely different form around the world.

Knots are used both in the interior of the home and in various accessories, and in recent years also in wedding decorations, as very exclusive and expensive design decor.

Iveta also states that with the right choice of knotting material, these decorations can be applied to almost any style for a wedding. For example, adding extra fine nuances with silk threads can create an interior atmosphere from classic, light, delicate and airy to rustic style, using linen or cotton.
Also, the team of Plant House has used knots both in wedding arches and decorations on the table and also in celebrations venue and wedding ceremony aisle decorations, napkin rings and chandeliers.
"I think cotton knots look really delicate and loving and go with everything.

The bride's bouquet has also been with a knotted decoration - it looks charming and is definitely a fresh novelty for those who looking for new details in your wedding story," advises Kristīne Jakadela.

The time of making knots depends on its size - "Nu Tik Vīs" used in decorations Plant House knotting has been a day's work when knotting a light net decor for a wedding ceremony, where for example was given a photo from an overseas wedding, and a months-long knotting process at a huge wedding arch, which made from Kristine's own sketch.

"One should take into account the fact that knotting is a process full of feelings. Every knot and pattern is created in the process of knotting - putting together ancient knots," so Kristīne Jakadela.
Iveta Kokmane points out that since these design elements are made from natural materials and by hand, which is time-consuming process, then the costs are not cheap, but it is also possible to rent knots in Latvia, so that every couple could find an opportunity to make your celebration special.
