Wedding in Malta is a great alternative for those who do not want to get married in Latvia. The ground sun shines on average 300 days a year, and although the wedding industry in this country is very developed and the level corresponds to international ones standards, prices for wedding services are much lower than in other European countries.
LĪGAVĀM explains what to consider when organizing a wedding in Malta and also spoke to Nellie and Kristaps, who said his yes words right on this beautiful island.
Wedding organizer Olga Ādama / Luna Events says that organizing a wedding ceremony on the island of Malta is real a fairy tale that every couple deserves.
The sun shines in Malta all year round - both in summer and in winter, so weddings can be held there throughout the year. “With every pair we we work individually, taking into account the wishes of the specific couple and the planned wedding budget. Newlyweds can choose weddings with different scenarios - from the most traditional to the most extraordinary.

Another plus for wedding registration in Malta is undoubtedly that the honeymoon begins immediately after sayings of yesteryear," says Olga.
She also explains that since Malta is a member of the European Union, it is necessary for Latvian residents to hold an official wedding there relatively easy.

By entrusting the organization of the wedding to professionals, the young couple can be sure that everything will be thought of. "We do both small and large ceremonies, we help with guest accommodation and free time planning. We wish that the newlyweds forget about all the difficulties associated with preparing for the wedding and organizing the ceremony.

She also explains that depending on the wedding budget of the newlyweds, couples are offered different wedding planning options variants – standard or deluxe. "Depending on the offer you choose, it includes the following: submission of documents to the registry office, reserving time and dates, wedding coordinator, transfer to hotel, bride's hair and make-up, groom's pin, witnesses (if necessary), wedding cake, brides bouquet, wedding decorations, wedding car, formal dinner, wedding photographer and other important things for the wedding.
Prices for official wedding ceremonies in Malta start from 1,600 EUR," says the Luna Events wedding organizer.

Nellie and Kristaps said their vows to each other right in Malta. "We had previously chosen Malta as vacation destination, but when we realized that we wanted to get married as a couple and abroad, after choosing a place far away didn't have to search.
Although we hadn't been there yet, the impression from the available information was pleasant. A small island in the Mediterranean Sea also suited our wedding concept. It should also be mentioned that English is the second official language in Malta, therefore, document management was not a big problem either," Nellie recalls.

"In our opinion, a wedding is a very intimate and personal moment, just like a ritual in which two people intertwine their promises in front of fate.

Consequently, it became clear that in order to really enjoy this day and promise from the heart as we wish, we we will not hold a party for relatives and friends. On the contrary, a bit selfish, but we wanted to share these feelings just the two of us. The wedding was great.

The main idea was preserved - we got married as a couple, but our wedding organizer Olga Ādama was a witness and wedding photographer. It really felt like we had good friends with us in this joyful moment. Laughter, tears, good wishes, a shared glass of champagne, an immeasurable feeling of joy that we hadn't even expected," he says Nellie.

Nellie and Kristaps say that they allowed the wedding organizer to take on all the responsibilities in planning the wedding. "Wedding planning we started at the beginning of the year, when I called Olga from Luna Events for the first time, and we were already married on May 10. It was necessary to organize all the necessary documents by the middle of February - about two weeks were spent preparing them all necessary certificates, translations and confirmations.
To be honest, only these two weeks felt like wedding preparations. Because that too, apart from the ceremony places and choosing a few more details was all that was asked of us.
Our wedding organizer takes care of the rest, constantly keeping us informed and communicating, as well as providing tips and advice on how to plan our holiday in Malta. We didn't have to worry about the marriage itself," said Nellie.

"It was also important for us that we arrived in Malta a couple of days before the wedding. We enjoyed the beginning of the vacation yet as an unmarried couple, after a few days we got married, and we enjoyed the next part of the trip - the honeymoon - as husband and wife.
As a result, our vacation in Malta got such a rich bouquet full of sensations and adventures that it we'll remember it for the rest of our lives," Nellie is convinced.
