WHAT TO GIVE WEDDING GUESTS?

Small and personalized gifts for guests have become an integral part of almost every wedding. Young couples try to come up with more and more original and interesting solutions and replace the candies that have already become traditions with a photo of the bride and groom on the wrapper and other no less popular gifts.

Get inspiration - the portal Līgavām.lv collected the most interesting wedding gift ideas!

  1. WEDDING GIFT AS A REFERENCE. Event agency Pop Up Sense manager Gunta Skalberga says that especially in big weddings, the young couple does not always manage to personally thank each guest for being present on this important day for the couple. Small gifts are a great way to do this. "When choosing to present gifts to guests, I would recommend to approach it creatively and think about how they can fulfill another function, for example, also serve as place markers instead of table cards. Small succulents in pots or some other bulbous flower with a personal note and the guest's name will be useful for this, as well as personalized candy boxes," advises Gunta Skalberga. Actually, anything can be useful for place holders - beautiful lemonade bottles with the guest's name in the form of a label, personalized reusable water bottles (great for the next morning) or shot glasses (still thinking about the wedding night itself), but for weddings in another country - luggage tags on which you can print both the name of the guest and a quote that corresponds to him.
  2. GIFTS THAT CHARACTERIZE WEDDING THEME. Often it is the theme of the wedding that can whisper in front of , which gift would fit into the celebration and be useful afterwards. Gunta Skalberga recommends that, for example, at a wedding held by the sea, a nice and useful gift will be flip-flops slippers (the ladies will be especially grateful and the slippers will also come in handy later on the dance floor, when the legs are already quite tired) or sunglasses (such an element will also look great in wedding photos).
"Also, you can play also with the wedding theme and colors - in some weddings where peach tones prevailed, each guest was given a delicious peach as a gift.
The couple can think about what kind of gift could describe their personality. This year, the couple, who are avid travelers, had prepared a keepsake card for each guest from their travel photos, with a personal handwritten thank you. The cards were placed in a photo holder, which was also great for snapshots from the wedding photo corner," shares Gunta Skalberga's experience.
On the other hand, for a festival wedding, tasteful temporary tattoos will be a great gift that both adults and children will like. They will create playfulness, joy and undeniably - they will also stand out in photos.
  3. MADE BY YOUR OWN HANDS. The guests will especially appreciate the gifts prepared by the new couple themselves. Wedding Agencies Dace Miezīte has observed that wedding guests like to receive practical things as gifts, which they will be able to use later and remember the special event. For example, personalized lip balms will be great for a winter wedding (especially since it's been scientifically proven that the average person loses one lip balm per week). On the other hand, for a hot summer wedding, they could be, for example, cocktail making attributes or stylish glass bottle openers.
  4. GIFTS THAT CHARACTERIZE THE COUPLE THEMSELVES. Wedding gifts should reflect the couple themselves, because after all, it is their special day. A couple who are active social media users could print coasters using images from their Instagram accounts and also print the wedding's special hashtag . But here it is important to choose the right pictures - so that they are not just your selfies , but contain a much deeper meaning. "At a certain wedding, we prepared various gift cards from the couple. One of the gift cards was a ride on the groom's tractor. Although the couple was initially worried who would want it, after the wedding, this gift card was almost the most requested," recalls Dace.
  5. FOR SWEETS - YES OR NO? Sweets are classic wedding gifts, but you have to be careful with them too. "Personalized chocolates and sweets are suitable when at least one of the couple likes chocolate so much that the guests also know it. If you give sweets, they should be both tasty and also enjoyed by most of the guests. For example, the popular macaroons are left on the table and not taken with them, while the French almonds in chocolate are all taken," observed the manager of Wedding Agency Dace Miežite. In addition, the manager of the wedding agency I WISH Laura Ošiņa advises to remember that you should also keep an eye on the weather and, for example, chocolate should not be given as a gift in +30 degree heat.
  6. THE LESS PACKAGED THE BETTER! When thinking about wedding gifts for guests, the new couple and the wedding organizers should remember that it would not be desirable to get carried away with various papers and ribbons when wrapping gifts. "If at first it may seem neat, then when the guests at the table decide to unwrap the gift, all these ribbons and papers will remain on the table, which in turn will prevent the photographer from taking beautiful and clean pictures of the table details," advises Gunta Skalberga, head of event agency Pop Up Sense .
  7. INSTEAD OF WEDDING GIFT - DONATION. If the new couple wants to do a good deed and are sure that the guests will also appreciate it, then instead of wedding gifts, each guest can be presented with a card indicating the donation made to a charity project on behalf of the guest. On such a happy day as a wedding day, it wouldn't hurt to do something equally happy.
