GROUP PICTURES AT WEDDINGS - MAYBE BORING, BUT DEFINITELY NECESSARY!

A lot has been heard about the chupiņu pictures of the group or the photographers themselves. However, one thing is clear - no wedding where family and friends are among the guests can do without them. There are wedding photographers who don't hide it - group photos are the most boring part of wedding photography, but boring or not - the photos should come out beautiful, that's why

Līgavām.lv collected some tips for taking successful group pictures.

WHEN TO PHOTOGRAPH?

The time for group photos is usually set aside after the wedding ceremony, when the first congratulations are received and a group photo is taken. The photographer and guests should allow the couple to receive congratulations from friends and relatives and about 20 minutes after the ceremony would be a decent time to start taking group pictures. However, right after the ceremony is not the only time to take group pictures. Wedding photographer Miks Šēls also mentions

as an option

taking pictures at the venue of the celebration, when both the couple and the guests will be much more relaxed.

KĀ ORGANIZĒT FOTOGRAFĒŠANOS?

Every couple should remember that the photographer's task is not to organize so that all friends and relatives get a nice group photo. Therefore, if the wedding is big and there are many guests, then you should make sure that the wedding organizer or a pre-arranged helper (ushers, bridesmaids) helps organize the guests for the photos. Since the photographer cannot know all the wedding guests, you will need someone who will call them together (preferably with a rather loud voice).

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

Taking group photos usually doesn't take as much time as preparing for them. While all the guests are summoned, the glasses of drinks in hand are put away, and what is not least important in today's digital age - a selfie is taken with the couple, it can take a couple of minutes, so the photographer should still keep an eye on this process so that it does not drag on too long.

WHO SHOULD BE IN THE PICTURES?

One of the most important questions, of course, is - who should be visible in group pictures? Close family members should definitely not be forgotten. It is the photos that will capture the memories of the magical day, so guests should not be shy and be more open when inviting the young couple for a group photo. The creative director of the event agency Chocolate Events Cindy Wilde recommends already

before the wedding, prepare and submit to the photographer (or wedding organizer) a list of those guests with whom you definitely want to take individual pictures together.

"On the wedding day, excitement can take over and you may end up without a photo together, for example with your parents or grandparents," says Cindy. On the other hand, photographer Miks Šēls recommends that if the number of guests is over 60 people, it would be productive to create groups of friends or relatives so that the process of taking pictures takes less time.

Some variations to remember: bride + her parents; groom + his parents; bride and groom + both families (parents, sisters, brothers). Parents and grandparents are the ones who should definitely not be forgotten - these photos will mean a lot to them.

WHERE TO PHOTOGRAPH?

Miks Šēls invites couples to trust the photographer in choosing the background, because the photographer will know and see what will look better in the pictures. When deciding on a group photo location, the needs of the guests should also be taken into account. If there are elderly people among the guests, then you should not choose a place that is too far away. You should also think about seating options.
