Photographer and videographer Anda Upmale / Riverside films x photography points out that light is the most important nuance by which photographers and videographers often choose their framing.
"It is always challenging to create quality material in rooms that have brown interior tones with little natural light. Usually, in such cases, even artificial room lighting is turned on, so you have to expect that you will no longer be able to get the light, white feeling if that is the concept of the big day.
In this case, yellow undertones may appear prominently, or the photographer will choose black and white tones in the photographs. In very poor lighting conditions, some photographers may even use flash, which is extremely annoying for videographers. There may not be a lot of light, but the colors of the interior should be chosen carefully.
You should not choose brown, solid wood interiors, as well as rooms with yellow walls, which will overwhelm the light in the room and create a yellow-orange mood. If there is little daylight, but there is a white interior, the decrease in light cannot be felt, because the white tone will reflect the light," says Anda Upmale.
There is a lot of talk about artificial lighting in various wedding photographer forums. There are photographers who symbolically compare, for example, violet light to the moment of the photographer's death.
Photographer Billy Lotz believes that it is also difficult if a large light object is placed behind the couple at the place of celebration.
“A couple should definitely not sit with their backs to the window.
If the decorator placed strings of lamps behind the pair, it can be, but then there should also be another main light object that would illuminate the pair from the front. On the other hand, I don't think you should get carried away with colored LED lighting at all."
But the photographer Ainārs Mazjānis observed that often the amount of light is not as big a problem as its location.
“A very good solution, which is also used by many decorators, is candlesticks with many candles in the middle of the table - especially if there are round tables at the wedding.
It is best for the candles to be slightly above eye level so that the light falls on the faces most pleasantly. You can never really have too many candles. The strings of warm light lamps across the ceiling are also a very good light source, which creates a pleasant mood in the pictures," says Ainārs Mazjānis.
Wedding photographer and videographer Anda Upmale has observed that there is another extreme, that is, couples often choose rooms with direct sunlight in the windows for their wedding celebration or ceremony. It turns out that such light can also be too strong and take over the desired tones in photographs. That is why, when choosing a room and wedding venue, Anda recommends:
