MUSIC SHOULD NOT ONLY BE IN THE WEDDING CELEBRATION, BUT ALSO IN THE CEREMONY

Music at weddings is talked about a lot. It must be said, however, that most often these conversations end on the topic of which musicians to choose for more fun wedding celebrations. Many couples do not even think about music at the most important moment on the wedding day - during the ceremony. But live music and the sound of instruments can pleasantly complement the ceremony and give it an even more special atmosphere.

Saxophone and majestic cello

Wedding organizer Gunta Skalberga /  Pop Up Sense believes that instruments of all shapes and sounds can suit a wedding ceremony. However, each will have an environment and wedding style where they will fit best. For example, since the saxophone is a universal instrument, it will fit equally well in a ceremony by the sea or in an open-air wedding ceremony in the city. "The saxophone as an instrument is loud enough, so the background noise will not eat it . Another bonus - the musician can move freely with it," suggests Gunta.

If you have decided that you want to hear the sound of the majestic cello instrument at your wedding ceremony, then Gunta recommends thinking about a solid surface where the instrument can be firmly supported, as well as a comfortable chair for the musician. When choosing a guitar as the main instrument of the wedding ceremony, the background of the surrounding sounds should be taken into account. You should also discuss with the musician whether you will need sound amplification equipment, which in turn requires an electrical connection. Another suggestion from Gunta - don't forget a chair for a musician.

Classical harp, Latvian kokle and piano

Undoubtedly, a string quartet will make any wedding ceremony especially festive. If you decide in favor of this choice, if the ceremony is planned outside, you cannot do without a spare canopy, because the instruments must not get wet. If there is a cello among the instruments, you must remember about the hard surface to support it and, of course, the correct number of chairs for the musicians. "Another majestic instrument that will suit the wedding ceremony is the harp. In my opinion, it will fit best in a ceremony that takes place in the courtyard of a castle or manor. It must be remembered that the harp also needs a stable surface for support. However, the kokle will be an original solution if you want to be different. As you know, modern melodies also sound wonderful in the performance of the kokle. Also in cases where a wedding is planned, in the Latvian spirit, the kokle will be the most suitable choice," says Gunta Skalberga.

For those couples who want to hear the sound of a piano at their wedding ceremony, Gunta recommends, unless the ceremony takes place in a place where they already are, to choose a digital piano as an alternative solution. "If such a solution does not satisfy you, you should not give up on your dream, but consider that the piano is a complicated instrument to organize. Its transportation and re-tuning will require a lot of resources - both human and financial," shares Gunta's experience.

Finding the right songs

The right timing determines everything, so you have to remember that the music at the wedding ceremony is much more than just one song that plays when the bride goes to the groom.

You should think about the music and the mood it creates at least 45 minutes before the ceremony - during the period when the guests arrive.

Similarly, music should also be played when the young couple, already as husband and wife, go to greet their wedding guests. Finding and choosing the right songs for each stage of the wedding ceremony can be a fun bonding activity for the bride and groom even before the wedding. This way, you will be able to immerse yourself in the memories of which songs are special to you, what they are associated with and ultimately - which ones you want to play on your special day. Of course, it should be taken into account that if the marriage ceremony is planned in a church, then you should first find out whether the song you choose will not be contrary to the standards of the church. Otherwise -

let your imagination, memories and thoughts fly free. And even if live music is not possible, the song you have chosen to play should create an emotional atmosphere.
