Anete conducts her daily life outside of Latvia, so she literally flew to her pre-wedding party. In Riga, she was welcomed by her closest friends, who had planned the kind of party the bride wanted. Of course, all its contents were a surprise to her. "Since my flight arrived at the Riga airport very early, I had arranged for a friend to meet me at the airport. When I arrived in Riga, I went to the exit. When the door opened, I saw my girlfriend. I went to hug her, and suddenly I noticed photographers hiding behind people and I immediately heard the pressure throughout the airport.
Girlfriends ran around me with cardboard cut-out photos of my fiancé's face on their faces. I was quite shocked, because I was expecting one friend, but they all came," Anete remembers.
After everyone from the airport arrived at Anette's friend's apartment so that the bride could freshen up after her flight, she was greeted by another surprise. A make-up artist was waiting for her there, which was a pleasant surprise for Annette, considering that the entire pre-wedding party was captured by a photographer. "I was thoroughly pampered.
After that, we snacked on delicacies, cocktails and a cake that my childhood friend's mother had volunteered to bake.
After the photo session in the Salaspils botanical garden we then went to Vecumnieki, where the girls had rented us a small cozy guest house. I would like to add that before the party, my fiancé and I had already rented this guest house to stay after the wedding. Therefore, it was a huge surprise that the friends had hit the top ten," Anete expresses her surprise.
Anete admits that one of the most difficult things in connection with the pre-wedding party is to let the events take place, not to control, not to try to find out everything in advance.
She didn't do very well at first. "Since I'm one of those brides who need to control the situation, I sneaked around during the party planning process and asked my friends to tell me a little bit about what we're going to do. But the girls stood up to it perfectly, laughing a little at the fact that I was fishing again. In the end, I gave up and allowed myself to go with the flow of events, thinking how it will be, it will be," says Anete. The bride admits that her friends had planned and created the party of her dreams.
"I wanted exactly as everything was planned. I am not a big partygoer and a fan of riots. I wanted to have a calm and pleasant party in which my little sister could also participate. Since she is only 13 years old, she would not be able to participate in various crazy activities. Therefore, I am very grateful to my friends that they managed to plan everything so that my sister can be with us all day and night."
When asked what advice Anete could give to friends of other brides who are currently planning pre-wedding parties, she says that the main thing is to think outside the box. "A bachelorette party is no longer just an evening in a club. Go outside of Riga and enjoy the evening in girls' conversations. Your girlfriends will surely make sure that the evening is not boring.
Personally, after this party, I am even more impatient for the wedding day, and I have to thank my girlfriends for that."
