Inga says that she celebrated her tenth wedding anniversary on the date of the wedding - July 18. Although it was a Wednesday, it did not prevent the celebration, because it was important for both of them to enjoy the moment on this date - neither sooner nor later. "The decade of our wedding was a question that I returned to in my thoughts several times, because I didn't really understand what I wanted to expect from this day.
The original plan was to escape to Italy with friends and celebrate our holiday there as a foursome. That's what we did - we went to the backcountry of Italy. There was a photo session in beautiful Italy and we found the most delicious Italian restaurant to celebrate this decade,
however, we felt that the rose wedding would also be the right moment for the ball, so our ten-year anniversary came together in two parts and apparently in reverse order - the wedding trip at the beginning and the wedding celebration in the dessert," said Inga.
Inga and Renārs had some detailed conditions that they were guided by when organizing a holiday for themselves - a quiet morning at home, a church to themselves, a leisurely day, a good dinner served in several courses, live music and minimal decorations.
All this together formed the perfect decade ball for Inga and Renár. "It was important for me to spend the morning without rushing - I wanted peace and the smell of coffee around me, and I got that for myself. We spent the morning at home with my daughter and sister, and we were all femininely pampered by make-up artist Júlia Gutmane and hairdresser Astrida Kozlovska.
Next, my husband and I went to the church, where an intercession was made for us and our new rings were consecrated. On the other hand, after church, our friends had prepared a surprise for us - we went on a boat trip along Lielupi. It was really enjoying the moment," recalls Inga.
On the other hand, Inga and Renārs chose Koya restaurant, which they had seen several years ago, since its opening, as the place for the special day celebration. "In our opinion, the restaurant Koya was the most suitable place to celebrate your holiday, because it is right here in Riga, located near the water, and the restaurant has a functional terrace where you can stay even in case of rain.
But, by the way, the weather has been perfect on July 18 for 10 years, it has never rained, so I can recommend everyone to choose this date as their wedding day," says Inga with a smile.
It was important for both of them to have their closest people around during the celebration. "It was immediately clear that we wanted to see everyone at one big festive table. It was indeed a large, long table running the entire length of the restaurant's terrace, where all of our nearly 50 guests were seated.
I wanted the decorations to be minimal, without spilling out into mountains of flowers and bright colors - there were only a couple of guidelines for the decorator from me, so that she could read our desired feeling and in a way surprise us.
There were no tears of emotion during the evening, as there were many beautiful words, as well as emotional speeches and moments of surprise. These were the emotions we expected from this day. After all, we danced until sunrise."
