Looks like we've finally got it. Spring! May brides often choose to get married in the last month of spring because of the blooming buds and blooming lilacs ( Syrínga vulgáris ) everywhere.

By choosing seasonal flowers for your wedding, the couple can also save a lot, because there is no denying the lilacs in May it is much easier to get, as, for example, in January. Lilacs are unique flowers because of their short flowering time - they bloom alone two or three weeks. However, the length of time lilac blooms depends largely on the weather - the cooler it is spring, because the lilacs will bloom longer. Then this year, at least in Latvia, they should bloom for a long time!

The flowering of lilacs has become so obvious to us that these white and lilac clouds that bloom at the end of May, often go unnoticed.

Since there are many different varieties of lilacs, the colors of the flowers and the duration of flowering will also depend on it. Generally, the middle of May and the beginning of June are considered to be the active flowering time of lilacs, but the flowering may depend on the time only from the climatic conditions, but also from the geographical aspect - in Riga, for example, they can bloom and blossom faster than in Kurzeme or on the sea coast, where it is relatively cooler. When choosing lilac as the main wedding flower, everyone these aspects should be taken into account.

Lilacs are really beautiful flowers with different shades. Light purples, whites, bright purples, even reds and blues shades. If the couple chose purple as their wedding color, it represents balanced energy, while blue since ancient times, shades have been associated with a new beginning, which is very necessary at weddings.

When choosing lilacs as your wedding flowers, don't forget to transform them in as many different ways as possible. It's not just the bride's bouquet or the groom's pin.
