WEDDING STYLE – FESTIVAL

WEDDING STYLE – FESTIVAL

When you start planning your wedding, one of the most important things to decide is what style of wedding you want. Variations are different - from classic to absolute modernism. The festival wedding style is also becoming more and more popular, which will be especially suitable for creative freethinkers. A wedding as a festival does not mean that a music festival should be held instead of a wedding celebration, but that it can include various festival elements.

Wedding style for free thinkers

The festival wedding concept allows the new couple's personalities to fully express themselves, especially if they are young, creative and kind of free thinkers.

No stiffness, unnecessary traditions and classics, such as round tables at celebrations with white tablecloths, as well as ancient traditions with lighting candles at the beginning and dancing at the end. A festival-style wedding can be organized over several days, inviting all acquaintances, schoolmates and friends and creating a stage and entertainment program. At such a wedding, the number of guests can reach several hundred.

Food stations and guest accommodation in the tent city

Wedding organizer Inga Bērziņa / BANNTÉ indicates that the concept of festival style in weddings includes the fact that the scenario of the event will most likely not be usual.

The word festival already in its essence includes a free and informal atmosphere, which means that the guests will not all sit together at round or square tables. "I basically see a wedding as a festival, that the ceremony and the party take place in one place and, of course, in the ideal version in the open air, where there would be tents and canopies, even in case of rain it is comfortable and pleasant to celebrate.

The festive dinner, as already at the festival, is also designed in a free format and with optional options, for example adapting the street food concept. It should also be understood that such a wedding will be more bohemian, so arriving in evening dresses and tuxedos could be inappropriate attire.

On the other hand, the guest accommodation would most likely take place in a tent city, which is currently popular all over the world - to use bell-type tents, making them comfortable, cozy furnishing and creating a kind of common tent city," says Inga Bērziņa about the festival's concept wedding.

Guide for guests with recommendations

Often, at weddings and festivals, brides choose not a traditional white wedding dress, but a much more comfortable and everyday dress option.

Traditional high-heeled shoes will not be suitable for a festival concept wedding, so both you and your guests should prepare a guide with recommendations that will help everyone enjoy the beautiful event.

Such a guide would include both the appropriate dress code or style of dressing, as well as the course of the wedding day and, for example, everything necessary for the overnight stay, if it will be held, for example, in a tent city.

Will require an adequate budget

For a festival-style wedding, a peaceful wedding ceremony in an appropriate place, for example, in the open air with appropriate arrangements and decorations, will suit. Weddings can start during the day and continue for several days.

However, it is a misconception that a wedding as a festival could be a more economically advantageous option, because to really create a festival atmosphere at a wedding, it will be necessary:

  • to invest a lot of resources in the installation work and the technical solution;
  • For example, at a festival wedding, an excellent and suitable band or bands will be of great importance;
  • Likewise, if the wedding is planned to be held outdoors, then the construction and all the arrangements will require an appropriate budget.

From a financial point of view, guests can get involved with donations for entrance tickets.

Basically, it is worth remembering that any big wedding is in a sense similar to a mini-festival, because the main ingredients are like any festival - music, entertainment, food, drinks and dancing until dawn.
