ANIMALS AT WEDDINGS - GOOD OR BAD IDEA?

ANIMALS AT WEDDINGS - GOOD OR BAD IDEA?

The presence of animals at weddings is no longer a rarity. Dogs, cats, horses and even exotic animals have been seen. I was at a wedding this summer, where one of the decorations was a live rabbit in a beautiful cage. Living in an era where we constantly want to surprise each other, the presence of animals has also become one of such surprises. And it's no wonder, because often our best friends are not people, but animals, therefore, especially dogs in this case, the bride and groom wonder what the best way to do is to leave the family pet with some trusted ones in your hands or still involve in the wedding, including the celebration.

Līgavām.lv collected recommendations that should be taken into account if the best friend of your new family will also participate in the wedding.

ANIMALS AT A WEDDING ARE A GOOD SIGN

If the best friend of both of you is your pet, which plays a big role in your life and you don't want to spend even couple of hours, let alone such an important day as a wedding, then you can consider the idea of involving your pet the wedding is in progress.

It definitely has many advantages:

  • your pet/best friend will be with you in such an important moment.
  • your pet will not be sad for you and will give joy to those around you - besides, it is believed that animals are at the wedding a good sign symbolizing a happy life together.

However, before deciding whether an animal will have the right place at your wedding, you should consider a couple of important aspects:

FIND OUT THE POSITION OF THE SELECTED WEDDING VENUE

When choosing a wedding venue, find out what the venue's animal policy is. must be reckoned with that there will be places that will not accept the presence of animals, especially if we are talking about large dogs.

CLARIFY WHAT GUESTS THINK ABOUT IT

If the wedding venue does allow the presence of animals, find out how the guests might feel about your pet's company at the wedding. Perhaps one of the guests has an allergy to feathers or a strong fear of dogs - you wouldn't want to spoil the day either for your guests or yourself.

FIND A PERSON YOU TRUST

You should also answer the question of who will take care of your family pet throughout the evening. It should be taken into account that the dog can settle in unpredictable places, and due to the presence of many people (most of whom will want to be with your pet take a picture or at least pet him) feel threatened and start behaving unpredictably. Therefore it should make sure the dog spends the whole evening with a person it knows and feels comfortable with. To be even more sure that the dog will feel good at the wedding venue, it would be advisable to go there in advance - thus allowing to get to know the surroundings. The same applies if you want to dress up your family friend as something special. Clothing pieces should be tried on before the wedding, allowing it to understand what is going on, especially if it is not done on a daily basis dressed up

WHAT CAN THE ROLE OF A DOG BE AT A WEDDING?

However, once you are sure of your pet's behavior and know that society will be rather a pleasure to him, how burden, then the presence of an animal at a wedding can turn into a really wonderful experience and pleasure.

Some ideas to get your dog involved in the wedding process:

  • Your dog can be a ring bearer or a flower dog, carrying petals in a basket. If you think it will be about complex, such a small basket can be tied to the dog's neck or a ring pad on the back - guests will gasp with delight and the photos will undoubtedly be delightful.
  • If a dog is really important in your family, then why not honor it and take the bride to the altar or to welcome the bride together with the groom? Also, this moment would definitely have beautiful photos and whatnot worth a tear of emotion.
  • If, however, you decide that your own and your pet's heart will be calmer without it being present at the wedding, then don't forget about finding a suitable home - be it a professional animal hotel or pet sitters, make sure the family pet has an equally happy day and peaceful, like yourself.
  • And for beautiful memories, the involvement of a pet will be useful, for example, in a pre-wedding photo session - that too will provide pleasant memories and will not cause unnecessary worries for your pet or yourself.
