When hearing the stories of grooms proposing to their sweethearts, it is not uncommon to hear that one of their biggest worries before the big event is where to hide the ring before the engagement so that she doesn't notice anything and doesn't accidentally find it. It is a special challenge for those grooms who have decided to propose to their future wife while traveling.

Ring in hand luggage, not checked in

If the proposal is planned outside of Latvia and the groom is traveling with the bride, then the first and most important rule is to hide the ring in hand luggage, not hand luggage.

The other one tends to get lost, delayed, which can seriously delay the proposal, and such valuable things should not be put in checked baggage to avoid unpleasant situations.

Also, the ring should not be put in a pocket, as it will have to be taken out when passing through the airport security control metal detectors, and in this way the surprise for the bride could be ruined. When putting the ring in your hand luggage, it is best to pack it in a box first and hide the box between your socks, wrap it in a sweater and put it in a suitcase or bag so that the bride really won't find it.

Find a safe hiding place in the car

If there is no need to worry about the airport security control, that is, the couple is traveling by car, then it is safest to keep the ring with you - in the inside pocket of the jacket.

Also, for example, the glove compartment of a car, which can be locked, can be used as storage.

Of course, if it is usually not locked, then the bride may suspect that something is being hidden from her. If the glove compartment is not an option, then there should be a place in the car where the loved one never looks or searches, for example, the beloved's sunglasses case.

Many grooms suggest that a car as a ring storage (not permanent, of course) is safer than, for example, a backpack, where the bride can look when looking for something.

Safe place - hotel safe

If you are staying in a hotel during the planned proposal trip and the big event is planned later, then it will be safest to leave the ring in the safe - of course, preferably in the hotel safe, not the room safe.

It will be safe there until the ring needs to be put to use.

Entrust the ring to someone else

Where to hide the ring before the engagement, if the proposal is not planned outside of Latvia, and the ring must be hidden in the shared home of both.

Then the most frequently used hiding places are a pair of shoes or boots, a pocket of a jacket that has been hanging in the closet for a long time, a bag with which to go to the gym, the highest shelf in the room that the bride cannot reach, a tool box in the garage and other places. Grooms also often recommend changing the location of the ring to avoid the bride accidentally finding it.

If, however, it seems that the joint home of the two will not be the safest place to hide the ring, then you can always ask someone else to keep it until the day when the big question is asked.
