But what to do for those couples who want to organize the wedding themselves, but want to avoid stress on the wedding day itself? A wedding coordinator can help them, which has been a common practice in the world for some time, but gradually this service is becoming more and more popular in Latvia as well.

Wedding coordinator - the good fairy of the wedding day

Speaking metaphorically, the wedding coordinator fulfills the function of a good fairy, allowing the couple to relax and not worry about anything on the wedding day.

The wedding coordinator will be the person who will be informed about everything that is happening and will be the eyes and ears of the new couple on the wedding day. Of course, it is not the case that the wedding coordinator will focus on the specific wedding only on the morning of the wedding day or the evening before - most likely he will have familiarized himself with everything already a month or at least a couple of weeks before.

The wedding coordinator will be the person who will check all signed contracts with service providers, often also finalize payment issues, check and know the final scenario of the wedding day, as well as the number of guests and, of course, communicate with all hired service providers on the wedding day.

The wedding organizer, on the other hand, takes on his shoulders the whole organizing process from A to Z, developing the style, logistics and time schedules of the wedding day, as well as the technical scenario - according to practical needs and in accordance with the wishes of the new couple.

Likewise, the wedding organizer, in cooperation with the new couple, also coordinates the service providers of third parties (wedding decorators , musicians , photographer , caterers etc.). Although the duties of a wedding organizer and coordinator may differ, they overlap on the wedding day - the wedding organizer also becomes a coordinator.

The cost of the wedding coordinator service will, of course, be lower than hiring an organizer, but may vary depending on the size of the wedding, the number of guests, the work involved and other aspects.

On average, it will be several hundred euros. On the other hand, if you have engaged a professional wedding organizer to organize the wedding, then the wedding day coordinator service will most often be already included in the price.

The coordinator can also be from relatives

Of course, it is not excluded that a wedding can be done without both a professional wedding organizer and a coordinator, but then the duties of the coordinator should be entrusted in advance to one of the guests - ushers or some other relative/friend who will be able to navigate what is happening, know all the involved parties and, if necessary, be able to make the necessary decisions.
